Artists in Boston Who Will Paint Your Dog’s Portrait
One of the greatest ways to decorate your home might be having your dog’s portrait hand crafted by a Boston artist. Fortunately Boston has some terrific artists who specialize dogs. Finding dog artists in Boston was actually pretty challenging. Not that I minded sifting through pages upon pages of artfully created dogs. Here is what I found…
Jane O’Hara
I found myself intrigued by not only Jane O’Hara’s work but the “Bio” on her website which conveys her vision of the animal condition in relation to fellow humans. A short and well thought paragraph well worth reading (second one down in the Bio Section). O’Hara seems to have a talent conveying her thoughts to print as well. This was another gallery I thoughly enjoyed sifting through. She also keeps an interesting blog well worth following.
Ria Hills
Dogs with Googles, hysterical if you ask me. You can find samples of Ria Hills’ work at her website Pastel Pup. She works in Pastel and Oil Paint. Her prints are hysterical, especially with the googles… She is based South of Boston but when your work makes me laugh who cares. You can Google “Dogs with Googles” and find more of her work.
Anastasia Robbins & Snoring Borris
Snoring Boris, what a great name for a website. I would argue that Anastasia Robbins exemplifies fun through her paintings of dogs as well. Her clients have left fantastic reviews on Yelp! about their experiences. If you are looking for a colorful hand painting of your dog for your home you should look through this Boston based dog painter.
Leeanne Williams
You can find hand drawn pencil portraits right here in Cambridge Massachusetts drawn by Leeanne Williams. She has a great portfolio at her website too cute to handle. I wish I could draw like Leeanne! Here ability to hand draw a photograph is amazing.
Kathy Weller
This is the work that inspired me to write this article. I had stumbled across Kathy Weller’s work when I was doing research on Boston Dog Photographers when I saw this whimsical style of portraying our dogs and their personalities. Kathy Weller is a Boston based illustrator with an impressive commercial career who specializes in dog portraits because she loves it. She has a well thought out process to learn as much about your dog in order to make the finished piece exceptional. Take a minute to browse her website as it is very unique.
Alexis Trice
Even though Alexis Trice is a New York based dog artist I decided to add her work to the list of artists you should take a moment to check out. Her work reminds me of the iconic “Dogs Playing Cards”. You will find some fantastic pieces of art depicting clients dogs and there alter egos…
