There is a distinct difference between dog friendly and dog tolerant. We have all been to places which advertised “Dogs Welcome”, then were asked to use the rear entrance or “tie your dog to the tree over there”. Not very friendly at all, just tolerant of your dog while collecting your money. Then there are places like The Liberty Hotel where doors are open wide for your dog. “Yappy Hour” at the Liberty Hotel

While visiting  Durty Harry’s in Charlestown last week, Michelle (the owner) brought up the idea of checking out the get together at the Liberty Hotel called “Yappy Hour”. This canine spin on Happy hour has been held 5-7 pm each Wednesday through the summer and as we were told this past Wednesday, will continue into the fall as long as weather permits. The very pet friendly Liberty Hotel sets up an outside bar in their enclosed courtyard for dogs and their owners. Drinks and appetizers were served among a unique mix of romping pooches and Bostonians. As I have heard great things about The Liberty from others regarding the quality of cocktail and conversation, I had high expectations already. I was, however, unsure how Moose our Pointer would fit in. Continue reading
