Dan, It probably is the same stretch of beach. During the winter there are more options over there, as there are everywhere else. During the summer at least there is a option in South Boston.

I am glad you had a good time at the dog beach in Nahant. There use to be a sign near the road, it is easy to miss if you walk along the trail from the parking aera by the other beach.

This is true. We had our dog off leash at the Nahant dog beach numerous times last summer with no problem. Never saw any officials patrolling there and locals seem to know its a dog beach though there are no signs indicating this.

I understand that there’s a stretch of beach just before you get to Castle Island that is dog friendly. Haven’t tested this out yet but this may be the one mentioned here.

I just wanted to warn people about a little thing called “Beach Diarrhea” that dogs can get when they drink too much salt water. If you are going to bring your dog to the beach, you might not want to bring any balls to throw in the water…

Thanks for all the accurate up to date information! Looks like there are only a very few beaches that allow dogs during summer days, but we’re going to try them out! We went to World’s End last weekend so my Golden could test out the ocean in a little cove, but no beach to run on.

You can bring dogs to Walsh Sands in Rye NH before 9:00 and after 7:00 during the summer. Anytime in winter. I live right across the street!

Kathlin, I feel your pain. There is so much poor information on the web regarding what you can and cannot do with your dog. Just so you know, we actually go and check things first hand before I write about it on Fido Loves. It takes a little time, but our dog loves the adventure.

Today is a beautiful day here in mass, gorgeous Sunday great day to do something with your dog. Only one problem though, where to go with my two bull terriers? Me and my hubby are looking throughout the internet from our phone and crossed this amazing website before losing our hopes. It’s kind of frustrating that many websites are not as accurate.
