We are big fans of Marconi Beach and the Cape Cod National Seashore when looking for white sand beaches in Massachusetts where you can bring your dog during the summer. Marconi Beach, like all of the other Cap Cod National Seashore beaches is dog friendly all year long. Although, during the summer you can only pass through a lifeguarded section of the beach with your dog and they must remain on a leash. During the summer months it is very difficult to find any public beaches where off leash dogs are allowed.
Out of the beaches on Cape Cod, Marconi Beach is the one we visit when we are taking a day trip to the beach with our dog Moose. On busy summer weekends, the parking lot can fill up requiring us to find another dog friendly beach in Wellfleet or further out on the Cape. The beach it’self is gorgeous with soft white sand and steep bluffs. During low tide, sandbars along the beach are revealed and make for a great place to play with the dog and friends as the cool water swirls around your feet.
We are not the only ones who would rather the bring the dog along than leave them behind for the day. For many dog owners, the dog is simply, part of the family. This yellow lab Cooper was enjoying the day at the beach cooling off in the surf as it washed over the sandbar at Marconi Beach. Our dog Moose enjoyed a quick hello with Cooper, I caught this picture of a very happy Yellow Labrador.
