Halloween Events for Boston Dogs

Halloween or Howl-O-Ween weekend is approaching quickly as the Seven Ghoulish Days for dogs in Boston comes to an end. There are a number of very cool events happening this coming weekend, enough so, I thought I would write an article about everything going on in Boston that is pet friendly. If you know of something I missed please contact me and I will add it to the list. There are far too many people missing out on some very dog friendly activities in Boston.

pawsh

This Wednesday Evening 6-9 p.m., The Pawsh Halloween Bash

Right in the Back Bay of Boston after work you and your costumed dog should break up the week at The Pawsh Halloween Bash. Five work days is a long time for your dog to wait for something different to come along. A dog party is truly a goulish treat for your dog.

Pawsh at 31 Glouster Street is hosting a Halloween costume party for dogs to benefit the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Dogs will win gruesomely great prizes. While Christine Fuchs of Tassels Photography will capture portraits of your dog. A $10 donation awards you with a high resolution file and a print as a gift to you for supporting a great cause. There will be treats for both you and your dog to enjoy as well.

Halloween Weekend Boston Dog Parties

There are a number of Halloween events on this weekend. Many are for a very good cause and some overlap. I can tell you our dog Moose enjoyed the events we went to last weekend and we will be attending more this coming weekend as well. It is funny see dogs reacting to each other in costume. They get very excited.

BCA

Howloween at the BCA Cyclorama in the South End, 12-4 p.m.

On Halloween from 12-4 p.m. the BCA is hosting an incredible Halloween event for you and your favorite canine. The Cyclorama has been converted to a canine compound with play areas including a doggie obstacle course sponsored by The Urban Hound.

You can expect some Haunted Happenings for the dogs and their humans as well, considering this is the Boston Center for the arts, I have very high expectations. You could hear the excitement in Hank’s voice (Communications Manager for the BCA) as we spoke about this weekends upcoming event.

There will be a Howloween Costume Pet Parade where your dog can strut sponsored by Doggie Daytrippers. If you are short on a costume or need help. Boston Baked Bonz is sponsoring the Art Bar where you can make a costume for your dog so they don’t feel naked in a world of costume clad canines.

During the event there will be lectures and demonstrations from area experts on training and care for your dog. as of late my favorite fido has become a bit of a counter surfer. Perhaps we will find a quick tip here.

Other dog business will be on hand. This is always a great way to find out more about ways to enhance the life of your dog you might not have known about.

The Beehive will be bringing back The Bark Bar to serve cocktails and food during the event. The Beehive is well known for being very pet friendly. Proceeds will be donated to the Animal Rescue League of Boston located just up the street.
