Myopia Sled Dog Races, 2010

Quickly coming up the weekend of January 16-17 th is the Myopia Sled Dog Races in Hamilton MA. You can expect more than 200 dogs at this event. With that in mind only dogs which are competing are invited much like any dog show you would go to. But spectators are invited and the cost is nothing, zilch.

I caught up with Tania Nieves of Boston Snow Dogs at Sheepfold in the Fells last weekend when she tipped me off on this massive meet-up for Snow Dogs. You can expect to see an article coming out on Fido Loves very soon about the Boston Snow Dogs group. These guys might be the most organized group of Boston dog owners I have come across yet.

If you have or are interested in Snow or Sled Dogs (Husky, Malamute, Samoyed, Inuit Dog, Chinook, etc…) Here is a great opportunity to catch up with others from Boston and New England who know these breeds inside and out.

Boston Snow Dogs, will be at the races as well. For snow or sled dog owners in the Boston area, Tania and the rest of the Boston Snow dog Crew might be one of your greatest resources for you and your dog. Like I said, you can expect a great article on this meet-up group.

And here is a link to the Myopia Sled Dog Race website

You will also be able to follow updates for the Myopia Sled Dog Race on Twitter

although the best place to get caught up with pictures from the Myopia Sled Dog Races is on their Facebook Fan Page

  4. I LOVE this photo, Jay. Looking forward to watching the races!

  5. I am still blown away how fast the sled dog teams move through the woods. This was a great event, shocking number of people were there.

As usual a great group of people as well.

  6. I am not rattling great with English but I come up this really leisurely to interpret.
