As I quietly moved through Sheepfold photographing dogs playfully bounding across the dry grass, a majestic Pharoah Hound casually walked into the frame as if there was nothing at all to see. There are some dogs whose commanding presence is simply hard to miss.

As a very young child I grew up with Doberman Pinchers. Both sides of my family bred Dobes, my grandparenst were famous for their dogs. My father, who knew much more about the breed than I was always in deep admiration of how well built, smart and loyal these dogs can be.
