Yöghund Frozen Dog Treats
There are three things that will cause my dog to lose his mind: birds, squirrels and Yöghund Organic Frozen Yogurt, just for dogs. Our dog Moose, who normally just wants to sleep, hunt and play, turns into a bit of a psycho in the presence of these frozen dog treats. Yöghund is based in Exeter, New Hampshire and easy to find in dog boutiques as well as the supermarket. The Yöghund Organic Frozen Yogurt comes in four different flavors: Organic Banana & Peanut Butter, Organic Blueberry & Vanilla Bean, All Natural Apple & Cheddar as well as All Natural Papaya & Peanut Butter. Our dog simply loves Yöghund Organic Frozen Yogurt, almost a little too much.
Our Dog Goes Psycho For Yöghund
The first time Moose turned into psycho dog was at the Halloween Yappier Hour event at The Liberty Hotel. Pam Dietz from Yöghund was passing out samples of the different flavors of these frozen dog treats to all the dogs. Our dog, not content with his share spent the evening stealing the treats from other unsuspecting dogs. There were close to 100 costumed off-leash dogs, cocktails and great conversations at the Liberty that night, so it is tough to say just how many Yöghund Organic Frozen Yogurts our dog consumed that night, the details are still a bit fuzzy.
I do know that for days afterwards while at the dog parks, we repeatedly heard “Hey, your dog stole my dog’s Yöghund the other night!” We estimate Moose may have easily consumed 20 of these treats in a few short hours, I fear the actual number is staggering. The following day like any kid who had consumed too much cake at the birthday party, our dog was a mess. But let me say, even at that moment if our dog could have wrapped his little paws around another Yöghund cup, he would have.
The Doggie Intervention
A few weeks after the famous incident we were at the Canine Running Against Cancer 5K, where Yöghund was keeping the dogs running in the race nourished with their delicious treats. Moose was the first to spot the treats and Margie staged an intervention telling Yöghund that Moose was taking a break due the the overindulgence at the last event. Pam from Yöghund said she remembered Moose stalking her at the last event and felt bad he was “on the wagon.”
A Second Chance
A week later we received a box in the mail containing a small supply of Yöghund in the different flavors as well as a letter to our dog from Pam, which I have included below for your enjoyment. Our dog has since learned to eat Yöghund Organic Frozen Yogurt in a responsible manner, limiting his intake to one or two in any given day after displaying some form of good behavior. Actually, he takes his Yöghund to his bed, holds it with his paws while gently licking it. After about four licks he holds his tongue on the frozen yogurt for a moment or two before licking another four or so gentle licks. While a little bizarre for us human’s, Moose is strategic with every lick.
The Letter From Yöghund:
Dear Moose,
I am very upset to hear about the unpleasantness of your “morning after” following recent Halloween festivities at The Liberty Hotel. Consuming 8 cups of Yöghund in a single hour most certainly exceeds of recommendation (by 7 cups) – but I really should have been more vigilant about protecting you from its irresistibility. (We call this “Yöghund-lust.” Don’t be ashamed, it happens to the best of you.) I blame myself, and I do ask for your forgiveness. That said, let there be no doubt about the “live and active” nature of the 5 billion friendly bacteria delivered in each single serving of Yöghund. (Moose, I figure you consumed 40 Billion at The Liberty event – I think that may actually be a world record.)
Please accept this small gift along with my most sincere apology. Moose, I do hope you’ll give Yöghund another lick, this time in moderation – just as all crazy fun things should be enjoyed.
Say hello to your daddy for me, and tell him I feel plenty of shame and guilt.
Hope to see you around, Moose.

A Happy Yöghund Conclusion
It has been several months since the Halloween event and our dog has since learned to enjoy a Yoghund treat responsibly, one of two at a time. When he sees one come out of the freezer, he excitedly runs to his bed and randomly starts throwing tricks as if you might secretly unlock the code which allows him to have the treat. As you can imagine, he was very excited to participate during the photo shoot. Now he even thinks he is supposed to get his own Yöghund out of the freezer.
I would also like to thank Yöghund for the box of frozen yogurt and the letter as well as their marketing department for sending out extra cups for the shoot. We had been saving the empty cups for a few months for this photo concept. Yöghund is a fantastic product with a wonderful group of people behind it.
